I’ve been wanting to work on tags just like the one on Tim Holtz’s blog, but unfortunately it’s hard to get tags here in Sendai. I tried to look various stationery store and apparently in Japan, they just don’t need tags. I found some on the 100 yen shop (dollar store), but they are wrinkle-y and in a very bad quality of paper so I didn’t buy it. In my visit to Tokyo last week I found some better quality tags, plus I bought some more online. I made this a couple of days ago :

I’m using Tim Holtz’s Urban Tattoo stamp, and immediately remember my home town : Jakarta. It’s a messy, dirty, hot and crazy town, but it’s always home to me. So I incorporated this GW♥JKT (it’s like I♥NY thingy but in Jakarta slang language) campaign into my art, and I liked how it turned out. Jakarta, Jakarta, I miss you more everyday.

Supplies :
Stamps : Tim Holtz Urban Tattoo, Inkadinkado Dot Flourishes, alphabet stamps, Fiskars Basic Font.
Inks : Stazon Jet Black, Distress Inks : Broken China, Spiced Marmalade, Scattered Straw, Dusty Concord, Vintage Photo, Fired Brick
Other : White embossing powder, Perfect Pearls, Signo Pink Gel Pen, Kuretake red ribbon, Ranger glossy accent

I fell in love with butterfly stamps since I saw how beautiful they are in Rachel Jackson’s blog. And I remember that she made a cute sketch on August, and even though it’s almost October now, I decided to make something using the sketch. And here it is :

I also copied her style in making those little dots with a white gel pen.

I just can not let my perfect pearls alone that I had to apply them somewhere in my craft. Here’s some shiny details :

For the card, I also used Alphabet Stamps, Milled Lavender Distress Ink and Artnic stamp pad in Ash Rose. Anyways, it was fun!

From the river

I went to the river a couple of days ago for a small picnic/Eid party. And I went home with some souvenirs : small white rocks. I painted them with some distress inks and perfect pearls, put some stamp on them, and lastly, applied glossy accents as a finishing touch.
